Includes, but is not limited to:

  • Consulting with clients and giving advice regarding estate planning, probate, trust, and guardianship law;
  • Analyzing, planning, and making recommendations for the conservation and disposition of clients' estates in accordance with the clients' expressed desires, including tax effects and consequences;
  • Drafting wills, trusts, and other legal documents to effectuate the clients' estate plans;
  • Representing clients before courts that hear and decide cases involving decedent's estates, trusts, and guardianships;
  • Representing clients by litigating contested probate, trust, and guardianship issues in trial and appellate courts; and
  • Representing clients in cases before the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing authorities and courts with respect to proposed, completed, and ongoing transactions and other matters involving tax issues.

Includes, but is not limited to:

  • Counseling individuals and businesses in all phases of commercial, residential, and land transactions;
  • Representing the client in appeals of ad valorem tax appraisals;
  • Counseling the client in litigation regarding real estate, including property interest disputes, easements, and other property rights issues;
  • Analyzing real estate issues that may intersect with other, related fields of law including Oil and Gas, Water, and Wind Energy; and
  • Consulting deed records to determine interests in real property.

Includes, but is not limited to:

  • Reviewing leases, deeds, and other legal documents;
  • Drafting title opinions for ownership of mineral rights, surface interest rights, and other land issues that may arise out of oil and gas production;
  • Representing and counseling landowners and oil and gas businesses in matters and litigation that may arise out of oil and gas interests; and
  • Assisting clients in managing the legal requirements for oil and gas interests, including following local, state, and federal law, tax issues, and other procedural matters.

Includes, but is not limited to:

  • Drafting business planning agreements according to the specifications of the individual or business;
  • Assisting an individual or business in drafting and filing Certificates of Formation and other formation documents with the Secretary of State;
  • Drafting operating agreements, licenses, and other legal documents to assist the client in their business operations;
  • Representing the client in disputes, mediation, arbitration, or litigation that may arise from the client's business; and
  • Counseling the client through bankruptcy issues, including tax issues, court appearances, and resolution of bankruptcy proceedings.
